Foreign Travel Advice

From Bolivia's high Altiplano to the heart of Argentina's grasslands, this trip takes you through some of South America's most beautiful landscapes. Most stunning of all is the dramatic expanse of the salt plains of Salar de Uyuni and we will cross the Altiplano along remote, seldom travelled routes, criss-crossing wild plateaux studded with volcanoes and lakes full of flamingos; it is truly spectacular. Bolivia was the economic engine of the Spanish empire and nowhere more so than the historic city of Potosi with its giant silver and tin mines and the political centre of La Paz. We descend from the Andes into Chile's Atacama Desert, to visit the atmospheric town of San Pedro before crossing the Andes again and heading into the beautiful arid regions of Argentina and the wonderful colonial city of Salta. Argentina's route 40 is truly spectacular cutting through remote red mountains beset with vine covered valleys. No trip to Argentina is complete without getting under the skin of Gaucho life and we have a unique Estancia stay for two days of horse riding on an idyllic country ranch. To cap it all off we have time to explore the cosmopolitan capital, Buenos Aires.

Maria v

Local guides performances were perfect.

Claire T

My highlights were biking down Death Road and our stay at the Estancia

John P

Excellent first-time trip for us. Small group so plenty of space!

Catherine T

The pace of the itinerary was perfect it was not overwhelming and it wasn't too slow.

Malcolm M

Loved the humour, camaraderie and team effort as well as the stunning sights we saw

Linda T

I had an amazing time, trip leaders were dedicated to ensuring that all the group had a happy trip - nothing was too much trouble. The trip was very well organised

Laura M

First group travel experience after years of travelling solo and/or with friends. A Great experience where you learn alot about yourself and make new relationships easily.

Michael H

My experience with Dragoman was a genuine pleasure throughout the trip.

Janine S

I loved the time at the estancia and the lunch st the winery at Cafayate

Robert G

Crew were excellent hosts and we were well looked after on the trip

Michael B

Both crew were hard working, helpful, always there for you, and very friendly.

Roger P

Great guides - especially Victor and Roberta in the Panatal. They knew all the birds and animals and were enthusiastic in sharing their knowledge.

Christine H

All of the guides had good English and they communicate the local traditions well.

Kendra S

Nick and Neill were fantastic through the whole trip!

Isla H

The estancia was amazing, these people got me riding a horse without needing oxygen, and gave us a lot of wine and gave me memories fuzzy or not that I'll cherish and the same could be said for the whole tour. I had a blast and that was largely to do with the organisational skills of Tom and Bob. That I just had to show up and it was all done for me, which on this type of tour is what I was looking for.

Madelaine O

Estanica staff were great!

Francois B

These guys do a good job!

G C

I couldn't fault these two on this leg of the trip whatsoever. They came up against some pretty challenging situations along the way (dealing with roadblocks, etc.) which they handled immensely well, going above and beyond their duties to ensure that the we got where we needed to be. Really impressive work.

Matthew W

Neill was fantastic throughout the whole trip, especially when faced with several problems with strikes and blockages. We were even lucky enough to enter the Salt Flats when most other tourists could not.

Judith E

Overall great trip, great leaders and great organization from their part!

Nicolas B

Both guys were absolutely fantastic, I had such a great time and the transmitted a such a relaxed vibe, even though they had to work so much to solve the many problems we found on the road. Great guys really.

Daniel H

Julie and Rob were amazing, both went well beyond the requirements to make the trip memorable.

Karolina K

Our leaders were excellent, I can't imagine how anybody could perform better.

GUDRUN V

The drivers were great!

Catherine O

Very good tour - one of the best companies I have used.
