Foreign Travel Advice

This 102 day trip journeys the length of the Andes, with the magnificent high plateau of Bolivia, the Altiplano. Along the way will be plenty of opportunity for trekking, either with other travellers along the Inca Trail, or away from the hordes on our Wild Andes Trek. Further north around the town of Huaraz, is the Cordillera Blanca, with some of Peru's most spectacular trekking trails, and in Ecuador we have some wonderful trails around spectacular lakes.

We head into the Ecuadorian Amazon Jungle as well as to some beautiful tropical landscapes on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

It contrasts the historic cities of La Paz and Salta with the cosmopolitan centres of Mendoza and Santiago along with the Salsa capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. It offers a wonderful insight into the life and culture of the Argentinean Gauchos as we spend a couple of days exploring the cordilleras with gauchos on their horses at our working Estancia.

We get to explore the real wilderness of Argentina and Chile – Patagonia including the 5 day visit to Torres del Paine National Park, where there will be plenty of time to trek the W Walk; or maybe riding or trekking around the magnificent Los Glaciares National Park around the dramatic peaks of Mount Fitz Roy will be your highlight but there is so much more, with Gauchos, horses, the spectacular Lake District with its twin towns of Bariloche and Pucon or the penguins and right whales of the Peninsula Valdes.

This trip is timed to take in Rio Carnival, the greatest party on earth. It is like nothing you have witnessed before in the scale, colour and vibrancy. The trip culminates in the chance to glitter up and attend the parade in the Samabadrome where you’ll be situated in Sector 11, close to the action!
