Foreign Travel Advice

This is the perfect journey for those who wish to experience the true spirit of South America, from the Inca heartland to the home of the Gaucho. In Peru, we allow plenty of time to explore the Urubamba Valley around Cuzco as well as hiking either the Classic Inca Trail or our own alternative, the Wild Andes trail. In Bolivia, we will visit the great highlights such as the Uyuni Salt Flats and La Paz, but we will head way off the beaten track across the Altiplano, crossing the Andean spine three times on some of the most spectacular drives of South America.

In Argentina we stay at a traditional working cattle Estancia, we will ride out into the Sierra Chicas with the Gauchos on their Criollo and Paso Peruana horses, enjoy a locally produced Malbec and an Argentine Asado (or BBQ). We have time to explore the wine lands that nestle below the Andes the colonial city of Salta and the outdoor activities hub of Mendoza.

Relax in the vibrant and cosmopolitan centre of Cuzco

A challenging trip that takes you off the beaten track, with some time at altitude. Some physical challenges, such as trekking and horse riding, with a good mixture of camping, hotels and hostels.

Scott P

It was my first time overlanding and would definitely do it again with dragoman

Boukje S

This part of the route has a lot of time in cities. I would have liked a little less time in cities and more of the at countrysides/camping

Vicki M

I loved the wild andes section. I liked getting the extra days in cafayete and salta. I think these 2 places or either or are good for an extra stop. I loved the estancia!!!

Kelly P

Dragoman crew went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience.

Carol S

Fantastic experience. Variety in itinerary. Great drivers - great atmosphere along whole trip.

Michael S

Enjoyed:- seeing miles of empty countryside which gradually changed through differing landscape and farming types. The vineyards and wine tasting / drinking. The Estancia, the people, horses, food and countryside there. Really enjoyed taking it in turns to cook for the group. Great fun and we ate really well. The astronomy observatory and its staff.

Liam M

My second Dragoman trip. I genuinely can’t fault it.
